A Practice Note outlining the key issues to consider when noticing the in-person or remote deposition of a witness in California state court litigation in an unlimited civil case. Specifically, this Note explains which parties may be deposed, when counsel may notice depositions, when leave of court is required to take a deposition, where the deposition may take place, and how to prepare and serve the notice of deposition.
