A Practice Note outlining the key issues to consider when noticing the deposition of a witness in a Texas district or county civil action. This Note explains how to identify the witness in the notice, requirements for the time and place of the deposition, and when to include the method of recording the deposition (that is, stenographic recording, videotaping, or audiotaping). This Note also explains the additional requirements for deposing nonparties, remote depositions (that is, by telephone or videoconference), including document requests with the deposition, and how to serve and file the notice.
