A Practice Note examining the methods for computing deadlines in actions pending in the New Jersey Superior Court, Law Division, Civil Part and in non-foreclosure actions in the Chancery Division, General Equity Part. This Note explains how to calculate deadlines that fall on a Saturday, Sunday, or legal holiday, forward-counting and backward-counting deadlines, and time periods measured in days, weeks, months, or years. It also addresses enlarging (extending) time periods.
