A Practice Note addressing how to enforce a subpoena in a civil case in a Pennsylvania court of common pleas when the recipient fails to comply. This Note examines the issues counsel should consider before attempting to enforce a subpoena served on a nonparty recipient or, less commonly, a party recipient. Specifically this Note explains when, where, and how a party may enforce a subpoena by filing a motion seeking a bench warrant, a motion to enforce, a motion to compel, a motion for litigation sanctions, or a motion for contempt and the relief available from each motion.
