A Checklist for filing documents in paper format in Ohio's common pleas courts. Note that as of July 1, 2022, Ohio Civ. R. 5(E) requires all courts to implement filing by electronic means. While amended Rule 5(E) does not impose a deadline, courts are to make this a priority. The amended rule does not state electronic filing must be the exclusive method of filing, so some courts may still permit paper filing. This Checklist applies to filing documents by paper in those courts who have not yet adopted electronic filing or still allow paper filing.
