Allonge

A document attached to a promissory note ( www.practicallaw.com/0-382-3716) or other negotiable instrument ( www.practicallaw.com/9-385-4119) containing an indorsement ( www.practicallaw.com/3-508-6488) that transfers the note or negotiable instrument over to a third party or bearer. The allonge must be firmly affixed to the note. An allonge is typically delivered to a successor lender when a loan is assigned.
