This Legal Update reports on significant changes to the local rules and procedures for all US federal district courts and appellate courts between September 9 and 15, 2015. It also reports on changes to the individual practice rules for the judges in select district courts during this period.
Second Circuit
Second Circuit Court of Appeals
The US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit amended IOP 35.1, which governs a judge's eligibility to vote in an en banc poll. The court's order included a redline of the change, which is effective September 14, 2015.
Eastern District of New York
Magistrate Judge Ramon E. Reyes, Jr. updated his motion and individual practice rules. A copy of the previous version is available here.

The US District Court for the Western District of Michigan amended the following local rules:
- Local Civil Rule 47.1 and Local Criminal Rule 24.1, regarding the confidentiality of juror information.
- Local Civil Rule 7 and Local Criminal Rule 12, regarding motion practice.
Ninth Circuit
Central District of California
Judge John A. Kronstadt posted consolidated standing orders for civil cases. This order incorporates several of the judge's prior orders and schedules.
Magistrate Judge Louise A. LaMothe updated her judges’ procedures and schedules, revising preferences on settlement conferences.
Magistrate Judge Rozella A. Oliver updated her judges' procedures and schedules.
