This Legal Update reports on significant changes to the local civil and criminal rules and procedures for all US federal district courts and appellate courts between October 7-13, 2015. It also reports on changes to the individual civil and criminal practice rules for the judges in select district courts during this period.
Second Circuit
Eastern District of New York
The US District Court for the Eastern District of New York posted a notice to CM/ECF filers who are filing a motion to vacate, set aside or correct a sentence under 28 U.S.C. § 2255.
Southern District of New York

Fourth Circuit
Eastern District of North Carolina
The US District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina updated its attorney admission memorandum and application, adding information regarding requirements for admission.
Fifth Circuit
Southern District of Texas
The US District Court for the Southern District of Texas posted general order no. 2015-11, amending the previous order regarding the division of work among the District’s judges.
Sixth Circuit
Northern District of Ohio
The US District Court for the Northern District of Ohio posted general order no. 2015-12, regarding reassignment of cases on the docket of a retiring judge.

The US District Court for the Central District of California posted the following new forms:
- G-120 – transcript order form.
- G-126 – transcript designation form.
Judge Dale S. Fischer updated his judge’s procedures and schedules, removing a note about contacting the judge’s courtroom.
Northern District of California
The US District Court for the Northern District of California posted a new subpoena to testify in a criminal case.
