Eastern District of Pennsylvania

Western District of Virginia

The US District Court for the Western District of Virginia posted Standing Order No. 2015-7, regarding the upcoming amendments to FRCP 4(m).

Northern District of West Virginia

The US District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia posted a new standing order regarding the upcoming amendment to FRCP 4(m) that reduces the period for effecting service from 120 days to 90 days.

Sixth Circuit

Southern District of Ohio

The US District Court for the Southern District of Ohio has approved amendments to the local civil and criminal rules. The court posted a redline of the amendments, which will be effective January 1, 2016.

Eastern District of Tennessee

The US District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee posted a new standing order regarding the reassignment of cases assigned to Magistrate Judge William B. Carter Mitchell.

Seventh Circuit

Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals

The US Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit updated its Operating Procedures as of December 1, 2015, adding a section on recruiting or appointing counsel to Operating Procedure 1, Motions, and abrogating Operating Procedure 3, Issuance of Opinions.

Northern District of Illinois

Judge Samuel Der-Yeghiayan updated his joint jurisdictional status report for removal orders. A copy of the previous version is available here.

Eighth Circuit

Southern District of Iowa

The US District Court for the Southern District of Iowa posted a new administrative order regarding the upcoming amendments to FRCP 4(m).

Western District of Missouri

The US District Court for the Western District of Missouri issued a general order amending Local Rule 9011-4, regarding attorney’s signature information on pleadings.

Ninth Circuit

District of Arizona

The US District Court for the District of Arizona has adopted amendments to the local rules of court. The court posted a redline as well as an explanation of the amended rules, which become effective December 1, 2015.

Central District of California

The US District Court for the Central District of California updated its application for admission to the bar. A copy of the previous version is available here.
Magistrate Judge Frederick F. Mumm updated his procedures and schedules, revising rules on mandatory chambers copies of filings.
Judge Otis D. Wright II updated his procedures and schedules, revising rules regarding:
  • Requests to seal an application, order, or document.
  • Courtesy copies of ex parte applications.
  • E-filing documents that accompany proposed orders.

Northern District of California

The US District Court for the Northern District of California posted General Order No. 65, regarding the cameras in the courtroom pilot project.

District of Idaho

The US District Court for the District of Idaho updated Local District Rule 72.1 – Magistrate Judge Rules, and posted a redline of the changes.

Tenth Circuit

District of Utah

The US District Court for the District of Utah issued General Order 15-009, adopting amendments to the local rules of court. The amended rules become effective December 1, 2015.
