DOL Announces July 2016 Timetable for Final Rule on Revised FLSA Regulations | Practical Law
The US Department of Labor (DOL) announced a July 2016 timetable for issuing a Final Rule updating the regulations governing the white collar exemptions from the minimum wage and overtime pay protections of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). The proposed regulations would extend minimum wage and overtime protections to nearly 5 million workers within the first year of its implementation by increasing the minimum compensation and salary levels required for exemption.
