This Chart tracks the Department of Justice (DOJ) Antitrust Division's investigation into price-fixing and bid-rigging in the auto parts industry and other related cartels. The DOJ has described the investigation into these cartels as the largest criminal investigation it has ever undertaken. As of December 2023, the DOJ has issued fines totaling over $2.9 billion. Additionally, one defendant was sentenced to one year and one day in prison for the sole charge of obstruction of justice.
