Grid Trade Master Agreement (GTMA)

A standard form agreement for the trading of electricity under the British Electricity Trading and Transmission Arrangements (BETTA), originally developed by the Futures and Options Association (FOA) in 2001 for the start of the New Electricity Trading Arrangements (NETA). Under a GTMA the parties agree to notify trades of electricity, pay the agreed price and provide credit cover. The parties enter into separate confirmations to agree the settlement periods, quantity, and price for electricity trades. For more information, see Practice note, Electricity trading contracts: GTMA documentation.
