This Legal Update reports on significant changes to the local civil and criminal rules and procedures for all US federal district courts and appellate courts between April 6 and April 12, 2016. It also reports on changes to the individual civil and criminal practice rules for the judges in select district courts during this period.
Federal Circuit
Federal Circuit Court of Appeals
The US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit posted a notice that the 2016 Federal Circuit Rules contained a format numbering error in Rule 30(h) and Rule 54.
Second Circuit
Eastern District of New York

Magistrate Judge Henry Pitman revised his individual practices.
Third Circuit
Eastern District of Pennsylvania

Magistrate Judge John D. Love:

Western District of Texas
The US District Court for the Western District of Texas added standing orders regarding:

The US District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee updated its civil cover sheet.
Seventh Circuit
Northern District of Illinois
Judge Jorge L. Alonso added procedures for jury selection in civil trials.
Judge Ruben Castillo updated his rules on motion practice.
Northern District of Indiana
The US District Court for the Northern District of Indiana issued a general order regarding the assignment of cases.
Eighth Circuit
District of Minnesota
The US District Court for the District of Minnesota posted a notice regarding attorney re-registration.
District of South Dakota
The US District Court for the District of South Dakota updated its CM/ECF user manual and administrative procedures.

Central District of California
The US District Court for the Central District of California posted a new transcript order form.

Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals
The US Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit approved changes to local rule 34.1(A)(3) regarding when and in what form motions to postpone oral argument must be submitted, effective May 9, 2016.
District of Kansas
