As used for gas, the rate at which the offtake of gas from the national transmission system (NTS) can be increased by the offtaker (such as a gas fired power station). The ramp rate for a particular offtake point from the NTS will be specified in the Network Exit Agreement (NExA). The NExA will, in addition, set out notice periods for an increase in maximum offtake rate.
