The CFTC issued orders granting an additional three swap execution facilities (SEFs) permanent registration status, bringing the total number of permanently registered SEFs to 21.
On May 26, 2016, the CFTC issued orders granting an additional three swap execution facilities (SEFs) permanent registration status, bringing the total number of permanently registered SEFs to 21.
The organizations granted permanent registrations had previously been operating under temporary provisional registrations and will join 18 other organizations that were granted permanent registration in January 2016 (see Legal Update, CFTC Grants First SEF Registrations).
These SEFs will operate under the CFTC's regulatory scheme for trading non-security-based swaps.
The newly registered SEFs are:
  • GTX SEF, LLC (GTX) of Bedminster, N.J.
  • TeraExchange, LLC (Tera) of Summit, N.J.
  • FTSEF LLC (FTSEF) of Great Neck, N.Y.
