Eight agreements for US public company acquisitions with a deal value of $100 million or more were filed this past week.
On May 26, 2016, Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. agreed to acquire microscopy workflow solutions provider FEI Company in an all-cash transaction valued at approximately $4.2 billion.
On May 27, 2016, Platinum Equity agreed to acquire electronic test equipment, personal computer and server rental, leasing and sales company Electro Rent Corporation in an all-cash transaction valued at approximately $323.4 million.
On May 27, 2016, Jazz Pharmaceuticals plc agreed to acquire oncology-focused biopharmaceutical company Celator Pharmaceuticals, Inc. in an all-cash tender offer valued at approximately $1.5 billion.
On May 27, 2016, Vista Equity Partners agreed to acquire engagement marketing software and solutions provider Marketo, Inc. in an all-cash transaction valued at approximately $1.79 billion.
On May 29, 2016, Great Plains Energy Incorporated agreed to acquire electric utility Westar Energy, Inc. in a cash-and-stock transaction valued at approximately $12.2 billion at signing (or $8.6 billion equity value).
On May 30, 2016, Accel-KKR agreed to acquire spend management solutions provider SciQuest, Inc. in an all-cash transaction valued at approximately $509 million.
On May 30, 2016, SemGroup Corporation agreed to acquire midstream energy assets owner and operator Rose Rock Midstream, L.P. in an all-stock transaction valued at $888.39 million at signing.
On May 31, 2016, salesforce.com, inc. agreed to acquire cloud commerce solutions provider Demandware, Inc. in an all-cash tender offer valued at approximately $2.8 billion (net of cash acquired).
