This Legal Update reports on significant changes to the local civil and criminal rules and procedures for all US federal district courts and appellate courts between June 29 and July 5, 2016. It also reports on changes to the individual civil and criminal practice rules for the judges in select district courts during this period.
Second Circuit
Eastern District of New York
The US District Court for the Eastern District of New York revised its civil cover sheet and accompanying instructions.
Northern District of New York
The US District Court for the Northern District of New York added General Order 25, a filing order to be served on all parties with the complaint or petition for removal.
Southern District of New York
Judge Gregory H. Woods revised his speedy trial exclusion order.

District of New Jersey

The US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit posted revised Circuit Rules, effective July 1, 2016.
