Administrative Office of US Courts

The US Judicial Conference posted revisions to the JS 44 civil cover sheet, effective July 1, 2016. Many District Courts have updated their civil cover sheets accordingly.

First Circuit

District of Massachusetts

The US District Court for the District of Massachusetts posted a notice regarding corrections to local rule 16.1 - service of process, effective July 15, 2016.

Second Circuit

Eastern District of New York

Judge Brian M. Cogan revised his individual practices. A copy of the previous version is available here.

Southern District of New York

Judge Robert W. Sweet revised his individual practices. A copy of the previous version is available here.

Fifth Circuit

Eastern District of Texas

The US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas posted General Order 16-07 regarding the assignment of civil and criminal actions.

Sixth Circuit

Western District of Michigan

The US District Court for the Western District of Michigan posted Administrative Order No. 16-RL-072 regarding the amendment of local civil rule 16.5(b)(i)(B), effective July 14, 2016.

Middle District of Tennessee

The US District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee revised its local rules, effective July 15, 2016.

Seventh Circuit

Southern District of Indiana

The US District Court for the Southern District of Indiana posted a notice regarding new local rule 87 – representation of indigent litigants. The new rule will go into effect September 1, 2016.

Eighth Circuit

Eastern District of Missouri

The US District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri posted a notice that it has adopted procedures concerning post-plea and post-sentencing motions relating to bond and waiver of indictment.

Ninth Circuit

Central District of California

The US District Court for the Central District of California revised form CR-20 - instructions for posting a third-party surety appearance bond.

Tenth Circuit

Northern District of Oklahoma

The US District for the Northern District of Oklahoma posted revised instructions for service of process by U.S. Marshal.

Eleventh Circuit

Middle District of Florida

Judge Timothy J. Corrigan added a new case management report that applies to cases held in the Ocala division.

Southern District of Florida

The US District Court for the Southern District of Florida revised its internal operating procedures, effective June 24, 2016.
