The Ordinance requires employers of at least 10 employees to provide 40 hours of paid sick leave during the calendar year. Employers with fewer than 10 employees must provide at least 24 hours of paid sick leave. Accrued but unused paid sick leave may be carried over, though employers need not provide more than 40 hours of paid sick leave in a calendar year. Retaliation against an employee for requesting or using paid sick leave is prohibited by the Ordinance.
