In Sanum Investments Ltd v Government of the Laos People's Democratic Republic [2016] SGCA 57, the Singapore Court of Appeal considered an appeal against the High Court's decision that the tribunal lacked jurisdiction to hear claims brought by a Macanese investor under the bilateral investment treaty (BIT) between the People's Republic of China (PRC) and the Laos People's Democratic Republic.
