A Practice Note providing an overview of key initiatives organizations can take to increase diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) within their law departments. This Note discusses how the general counsel can demonstrate DEI leadership, recruiting and hiring strategies for increased law department diversity, policies and programs that help law departments retain diverse employees, and how law departments can partner with their outside counsel to increase DEI within the legal profession.
