A Practice Note providing an overview of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). This Note discusses the steps involved in determining whether an activity by a developer, a real estate owner, or an operator triggers an environmental review under CEQA. This Note also discusses the process undertaken by state and local agencies and the types of environmental documents that may be issued in connection with the proposed project when CEQA applies.
