A Policy for use by lenders and other financial institutions to ensure that their lead generation relationships with third-party service providers comply with applicable federal consumer protection laws. Several federal statutes may be implicated in establishing a lead generation relationship, including, for example, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, the Telemarketing Sales Rule, the Truth in Lending Act, the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (governing collection and transfer of consumer data), the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and laws prohibiting unfair, deceptive, or abusive acts or practices (UDAAPs).
