Specifically, this Note explains the time to commence an appeal (including when orders are rendered, calculating deadlines, and the effects of early and late filing) and how to commence an appeal of a circuit court order (including the procedures for commencing an appeal, the format and contents of the notice of appeal, filing the notice, and serving the notice). This Note also addresses post-commencement issues, including notifying the district court of related cases, filing a notice of appearance, designating email addresses, and registering with the Third District Court of Appeal's Appellate Case Information System (ACIS).
