Court of Appeal in Northern Ireland rules on Facebook privacy case | Practical Law

The Court of Appeal in Northern Ireland has reduced Facebook Ireland's liability for misuse of private information and overturned the trial judge's decision that Facebook Ireland was not a data controller. It confirmed that Facebook Ireland was entitled to rely on the hosting defence in the E-Commerce Regulations against claims for damages under the Data Protection Act 1998.
