This Legal Update reports on significant changes to the local civil and criminal rules and procedures for all US federal district courts and appellate courts between January 25-31, 2017. Eastern District of New York

The US District Court for the Southern District of Illinois announced that the maximum allowable file size for documents filed in CM/ECF has been increased from 5MB to 35MB.

Eastern District of Missouri
The US District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri amended its local rules, effective February 1, 2017.
Ninth Circuit
Central District of California

Judge Josephine L. Staton revised her judge’s procedures. In addition, she:
- Posted a sample attorneys’ fees excel spreadsheet.
- Posted an overview of filing documents under seal in a non-sealed civil case.
